Vietnam Foodexpo 2024: Expanding Horizons, Elevating the Food Industry

From November 13th to 16th, 2024, the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City became the focal point of the food industry with the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2024 - Vietnam Foodexpo 2024. This 10th-anniversary event promised unique experiences and excellent business opportunities, particularly for Binh Phuoc businesses.
Participating in the International Food Industry Exhibition 2024, the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of Binh Phuoc Province (Center) registered 04 standard booths along with 09 participating businesses. During this Fair, the Center and the business delegation participated in the event's supply-demand connection activities and achieved many encouraging results.

Scale and Diversity of Participation
Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 gathered over 500 booths from nearly 400 businesses representing over 30 provinces and cities of Vietnam and approximately 20 countries and territories, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and many others. This prominent annual event in the Vietnamese food, agricultural, and aquatic product industries showcased leading national and international brands presenting high-quality products meeting stringent global standards.
Main Product Categories and Advanced Technologies
This exhibition showcased a diverse range of main product categories, including fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, frozen and canned seafood, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, tea and coffee, nutritional foods, production materials, functional foods, along with modern processing and packaging technologies. Notably, the National Brand (NB) booth area, with nearly 40 booths spanning 400m², served as a significant highlight, honoring products meeting Vietnam's NB standards.
With 09 participating units, the Binh Phuoc booth was highly regarded for the diversity and quality of its local products, especially the region's unique specialties and OCOP products such as salted roasted cashews, clean pepper, dried jackfruit, and bird's nest.
Breakthrough with Virtual Reality Exhibition
This year, Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 introduced a breakthrough by combining a traditional exhibition format with a virtual reality (VR) exhibition. The VRTradeShow platform, deployed by OSB Group, allowed attendees worldwide to experience a modern digital exhibition space, interact in real-time with vivid 3D booths, effectively expanding trade connections and promoting digital commerce.
Binh Phuoc businesses conducted livestreams at the event to attract customers to place online orders or visit the booth directly.
Activities and Featured Programs
The event encompassed various key activities, including the opening ceremony, a seminar on green transition in food production, a trade connection conference between Vietnamese businesses and international importers, as well as Halal product promotion programs. Participating businesses had the opportunity to connect with over 10,000 trade visitors, meet leading distributors, and expand export markets through 1:1 meetings at the exhibition.
During this Fair, the Center and the business delegation participated in the Supply-Demand Connection Conference in Ho Chi Minh City and achieved many encouraging results. Notably, Business Households (BH) Nguyen Nang Dong reached a cooperation agreement with 01 Japanese business and 03 European businesses to combine and bring bird's nest products to these two potential markets; Vinahe Co., Ltd. reached a cooperation agreement with Voicevale Co., Ltd., headquartered in London, United Kingdom - a distributor and supermarket channel for agricultural products in the European market; Co Hai Clean Pepper Production Facility connected with a partner who needs to import 01 20-foot container (25 tons) of dried jackfruit and dried vegetables to India and the Middle East market; Kim Thu Cashew Nut Co., Ltd. successfully organized livestream sales activities and successfully introduced products with new, eye-catching, and attractive designs to potential customers; Havina Global.ST Joint Stock Company connected with a partner specializing in connecting with KOLs to sell health products domestically and internationally.
Support and Appreciation from Delegates
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, in the opening speech, emphasized the key role of the food industry in promoting exports, creating jobs, and developing the socio-economy. He also expressed confidence that Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 will continue to be an effective trading platform, helping businesses improve product quality, build brands, and increase export value.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam, Mr. Julien Guerrier, also attended the exhibition, affirming the EU's interest in promoting sustainable standards and food safety, opening up long-term cooperation opportunities between the two sides.
During the participation in Vietnam Foodexpo 2024, the Binh Phuoc booth attracted more than 6,000 visitors and achieved sales of over 50% of the goods brought to the exhibition, marking a remarkable success and opening up many cooperation opportunities in the future. Besides, the potential market is expanded not only domestically, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, but also internationally with partners from the ASEAN community, the Halal market in the Middle East, European countries, as well as countries with large cashew consumption demand such as China, Japan, South Korea, the US, India, and Russia.
Vietnam Foodexpo 2024 is not only a place to honor the national brand value of Vietnamese food but also an important bridge for the Vietnamese food industry to reach the international market.
