On the afternoon of September 20th, at Quang Trung Software Park, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, the opening ceremony of the 18th Vietnam - Shanghai Trade Fair 2024 took place, co-organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI - HCM) and the Shanghai Fair Committee

Attending the opening ceremony, the Binh Phuoc delegation consisted of 40 businesses and Center staff, led by Ms. Ha Ngoc Nhung - Head of the Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Department. At the event, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, affirmed that trade cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai is a crucial part of the trade relationship between Vietnam and China. The bilateral relationship between the two cities has developed rapidly in both breadth and depth, especially in economics, finance, commerce, logistics, investment, and innovative technology.
Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai regularly organize trade fairs, seminars, and economic forums to promote trade and investment between the two cities. These events play a vital role for businesses in connecting, expanding cooperation opportunities, and developing new projects.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Wei Hua Tuong, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the solid foundation of cooperation between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City. The prospects for investment and bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two localities in particular, and the two countries in general, are very bright and are sure to develop brilliantly and sustainably in the future.
